PRAISE HIM FOR HIS EXCELLENT GREATNESS
Codex SINAITICUS - just another roman forgery or not?
The shepherd/Psalmist wrote...
Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
JESUS, the Good Pastor... to the envious religious leaders of His day, said...
John 10:27
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me... and another they will not follow.
The great apostle Paul who penned 2/3rd of the New Testament, wrote....
2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Excerpt from: Roman Catholic Confessions for Protestants Oath, Article XXI, states...
We confess that the Holy Scripture is imperfect, and a dead letter, until it is explained by the Supreme Pontiff, and allowed by him to be read by the laity.
Just an aside: the other day, at a Spanish speaking congregation, one guy interrupted and said, "In all my life, I've never seen him once read the bible, not to mention explain the scriptures to anyone; he only knows how to light candles." Needless, to say, they all laughed!
So, what is the point? (apparently) some folks think the Psalmist was just an uneducated shepherd and song-writer who really didn't know what on God's green earth his lyrics meant; and JESUS the living Word... didn't really know what HE was saying about those who recognize His voice and follow Him; and the apostle Paul incorrectly instructed Timothy...
and only some old guy (some portly pasta-loving prelate) wearing goofy attire... with screachy music droning on in the background can really understand what the Psalmist, JESUS and Paul really said. Hmm?!
Now, I love pasta and pepperoni pizza, but according to that goofy logic, I guess some would say it is wrong to believe JESUS when HE said...
John 16:13 (KJV)
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.
... which for whatever reason reminds me of the prophet Jeremiah who said, I prayed unto the Lord, saying: Ah Lord God! behold, thou has made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee. Jeremiah 32:17 (KJV)
... although some scholarly class-passers, graduates from prestigious universities would insist we must believe (for some strange reason)... there is nothing too hard for the Lord who created the universe (something you quickly sense they do not believe)... except for Him to make His word understandable... without their help.
In other words, they expect... what we believe is self-evident about God and His Word... should be questioned; while they expect... what they believe should remain beyond question!
And therein is the crux of the debate over whether or not the Codex Sinaiticus is just one more spurious document fabricated in the halls of institutional rome... sometime in the mid-1800s. OR... that Codex Sinaiticus is really an old document with an extraordinary number of errors, more than most manuscripts... and that the Vaticanus, the supposed 2nd oldest bible (which really looks like a 15th century copiest's scribblings; and reads like any of the early gnostic writings) is suddenly the most reliable manuscript... WAY BEYOND any other documents... let's say, even the Textus Receptus documents used for the King James Version!!
And that Wescott and Hort's fabulous theory... without any historic evidence, just a feeling -- not one document... to support their theory... thereby ignoring 95% of the biblical texts from earliest times of the earliest Greek Orthodox, Syriac, Armenian and Ethiopic churches -- pushing them aside; and accepting these 2 late-comer documents; and in 1881, creating and putting forth their own new Greek text as more accurate based on their unproved theory. Thereby the romans are able to discredit individual confidence in the one who searches the scriptures for understanding, who discovers he or she, too... can call on the Name of the LORD... without all the hocus pocus (IF... you believe them in Rome).
No wonder, Jesus Himself told those who followed Him, the Queen of Sheba... (already 1000 years old) will rise up in the judgment and condemn the male-dominated generation of His time. Too bad, people didn't guard to protect Jesus' words... like He asked, the night He was betrayed. It makes you wonder... what the Queen from Arabia will say to those men dominating the last 2,000 years - men who obviously didn't value what the Lord told us. You know, I can't think of one woman... in the whole world... who wouldn't gladly stand up and say something (should Jesus call on her, too)... I cannot think of a woman who will not have something to say... to those men dominating the last 2 millennium. Can you?
But I digressed! This is about: the Sinaticus, isn't it? So my only final question is: If... the Sinaiticus is such an important document... then why... do all those bible publishers (...particularly, the roman bible publishers) continue selling - at record sales - all those lousy translations... which ignore its import; especially when for centuries, the roman church burned not only bibles, but bible translators... and bible readers?
Personally I'm a theist, not a deist; so, I'm going with GOD. I'm confident HE is pretty smart and nothing is too hard for Him; and HE knows how to get our attention, and can and does inspire even the littlest children (who can't even remember how to spell their name) to come unto HIM and learn of HIM... and sing HIS praises even in the 21st century... even little children... sing HIS praises in Spirit and TRUTH... to the envy of religious leaders (past and present).
Thy word is [still] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
For the rest...
KJV-lite™ VERSES are based on those verses found in the Sinaiticus which is considered by some to be the oldest bible; by others, it is considered a forged document. Some claim the Greek scholar
Constantine Simonides represented the interests of orthodox faith of biblical history; others claim the German professor Constantin von Tischendorf represented the interests of the roman church and the counter-reformation movement.
We at ilibros.net will let you decide.

Papal Encyclicals Online - Decet Romanum Pontificem (sounds fancy, don't it?) The excomunication of Martin Luther, January 3, 1521 (Luther is still considered a heritic by rome).
From Leo 10's exurge domine June 15, 1520... in the attempt to silence Martin Luther... it reads: "Therefore we can, without any further citation or delay, proceed against him to his condemnation and damnation as one whose faith is notoriously suspect and in fact a true heretic with the full severity of each and all of the above penalties and censures."
By the way, Martin Luther didn't care what the papacy wrote and burned it at Wittenberg in December 1520; and, in response to all that BULL... you can click on this link to an excerpt
Martin Luther's reply to Leo 10's Bull - which Luther said had "come from the damned seat of Antichrist."
Vicarius Christi (Tertullian): The second recorded use of the term "Vicar of Christ" is found in the epistles of Tertullian in the 3rd century, to refer to the Holy Spirit, that is, as Christ is not physically performing miracles in the Church, the Holy Spirit acts as his Vicar on his behalf, performing miracles and preventing the Church error.
So quoting from the Douay-Rheims (the catholic bible) Revelation chapter 18... which all the early latin and Greek church fathers identify as rome (at some time...); in verse 4, we read: And I heard another voice from heaven, saying: Go out from her, my people;
And here is a modern century curiosity: Gabriel Amorth at the Vatican is the chief exorcist in the roman church; and he didn't get the job for playing tiddlywinks... or tic-tac-toe! Check out this quote... and notice... it is found on a catholic website link below:
The famous Italian exorcist was also asked if the Pope was aware of Satanic sects in the Vatican, to which Fr. Amorth replied, "Of course, he was informed. But he does what he can. It's a horrifying thing."

Here are 2 POEMS planned to set to music as time permits:
CAN WE COUNT TO FOUR? CAN WE COUNT UP TO FOUR?Final comment: Don't worry about those who say valuing and holding to a biblical view is unscriptural. Of course they would say that it's unscriptural! They say, Unscriptural... meaning it can't be found in scripture? Well, the entire convoluted roman system of deceptive traditions and hocus-pocus workers is unscriptural and couldn't be found in the bible in 1,000 years (well, unless you fabricate a bible!). The philosopher Thomas Hobbs wrote, "...the papacy is no other than the ghost of the deceased Roman Empire, sitting crowned upon the grave thereof" - quote from Leviathan.
Former Roman Catholic Priests and Nuns Speak:
Those who prefer traditions to what the Lord said... have been around a long time; and things haven't changed much. When Jesus walked the dusty roads of time, the lovers of traditions are the ones who yelled loudest for His murder.
By the way, I don't know a Christian living on planet earth who would have joined any of those violent Roman Catholic Church Crusades against the Jewish and Muslim peoples as they sought to control Jerusalem, do you? That's why this nation was formed: Christians, as in those who actually read the Bible, who believe all those promises found in the Bible... those Christians for 1,000 years (maybe longer) they fleed in droves from the blood thirsty and fire lovin' inquisitors of the Roman Church. Historically, we know what Daniel repeatedly wrote throughout his book of the 4th beast that was also promised to come; historically, we know what the apostle John wrote in the Revelation 17 and 18 about the faithless Babylon the great... promised to come... always understood to represent Rome.
No need to argue with anyone. Peter told us: In the last days, scoffers will come; Jesus told us: deceivers will come saying they represent Him! Well, they've arrived! Just start with the Good news... first delivered to the saints; and hold on for dear life... it is still the power of God that saves. Love God our Father; then love those who cross our path. And keep on walking... justified in the finish work of JESUS Christ.

The church in Ukraine
The church in Mosul, Iraq - Jesus said, The men of Nineveh will rise up in the Judgment and condemn His generation (fyi: the grave of the prophet Jonah who preached to Nineveh... is in Mosul). I wonder what they will say to ours?
